Government of Sri Lanka asks UNOPS to assist with port clearance

UNOPS is helping the Sri Lanka Ports Authority clear the Point Pedro harbour in Northern Sri Lanka. Besides permitting the local community to use the harbour, the work contributes to the Government’s wider port reconstruction and renovation programme, which aims to fulfil Sri Lanka’s national goal of becoming a major maritime hub.
