Africa Regional Office (AFO)

Based in Johannesburg, South Africa, AFO supports UNOPS operations centres throughout Africa, providing financial oversight of projects, procuring goods and services and managing human resources.

AFO helps ensure that projects are executed to the highest standards, providing a shared knowledge base and ensuring that best practices and lessons learned are disseminated between projects across the entire region.

As a major regional transport hub, Johannesburg affords excellent connectivity and easy access to UNOPS partners and other important development actors in the region. These include the regional offices of many partner United Nations agencies, governments and non-governmental organizations.
