BRUSSELS - UNOPS has signed a Financial and Administrative Framework Agreement (FAFA) with the European Union (EU) – represented by the European Commission (EC) – that facilitates future cooperation between the two institutions.

EU logoJan Mattsson, Executive Director of UNOPS, said “The net result of our accession to FAFA is that the EU can now fast-track requests for UNOPS services. This is a significant achievement that will permit work to commence quickly and assistance to reach those in need that much sooner.”

The agreement, signed on 11 November, will create a closer partnership between the two institutions and expand UNOPS’ working relationship with the EU.  It standardizes administrative aspects of UNOPS’ future jobs for the EU, facilitating service agreements and creating administrative efficiencies and economies.
