UNOPS invites donor countries to fund currently available Junior Professional Officer (JPO) positions. 

At UNOPS, JPOs currently serve in Operations Centers, Regional Offices and at Headquarters. Under the supervision of a senior staff member, JPOs work with international and national personnel and are entrusted with responsibilities in the core areas of UNOPS mandate.

JPOs help UNOPS to expand the capacity of the UN system and its partners to implement peacebuilding, humanitarian and development operations that matter for people in need. The list below provides some examples of JPO positions available for funding at UNOPS.

UNOPS may in some instances develop Terms of Reference (ToRs) around specific needs and focus areas. Donor countries are encouraged to contact JPO@unops.org for further information.

Candidates for the Junior Professional Officer Programme are selected on a highly competitive basis. The programme is open to nationals of certain donor countries and a few donor countries fund nationals of developing countries.
