The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme provides young professionals interested in pursuing a career in international work with practical experience in a United Nations organization.
Under the guidance of a senior member of staff, JPOs assigned to UNOPS learn from experienced colleagues how to implement projects within areas central to UNOPS operations such as project management, procurement, human resources, finance, environment, health, physical infrastructure, census and elections, justice and security sector reform.

Assignments may have a regional, national or sectoral focus and can last for one to three years. JPOs are sponsored by their national governments. To learn more about the experiences of some of our current JPOs at UNOPS, click here.
