| Manoel and engineers decide where to dig a road side drain of the road in Sri Lanka. |
The great thing about my job is that I am able to help people by doing what I love to do and at the same time I am learning every day.
UNOPS is a professional organization that cares about quality and strives to keep up to date, progressive and to develop. On a daily basis I deal with colleagues in our office and across the globe, local communities here in Haiti and of course our project partners.
Before joining UNOPS, I worked for a construction consultancy and have worked in Brazil, Mozambique and Afghanistan. I joined UNOPS in Sri Lanka as Deputy Project Manager, where we worked on the construction of 400km of paved roads, training contractors and using labour based techniques that provided incomes in local communities.
Now I have been in Haiti as a Project Manager for almost one year where we are supporting the construction of a roads and the central police headquarters.
As an architect with engineering experience, it is great to be able to use my consultancy and engineering experience at UNOPS and put it to use in locations where it really makes a difference.
