I've wanted to work for the UN since I was a kid. What I like so much about working for UNOPS is that it gives me a chance to fulfil this aspiration in a way that is both professionally and personally rewarding.
The most satisfying thing about my job is seeing the human impact of what we do. During my work with UNOPS in Afghanistan I had the opportunity to work closely with national counterparts and communities in rural areas. It was always such a pleasure to connect with the beneficiaries of our projects and hear firsthand how the roads we constructed made a difference in their daily lives.
Likewise now working here in DRC, the outcomes of the projects within the Humanitarian and Post-Conflict cluster may not yet have revealed themselves, but the expected social and peace dividends are significant. It is incredibly satisfying to be a part of something that will produce such important outcomes.
