"We look forward to further applying our institutional knowledge in support of the Sustainable Development Goals in São Tomé and Príncipe, while also expanding opportunities for socially responsible investments in the country," said UNOPS Executive Director, Grete Faremo.
His Excellency Minister of Foreign Affairs of São Tomé and Príncipe, H.E. Dr. Urbino José Gonçalves Botelho, expressed confidence in the support UNOPS would provide in its mandated areas: project and contract management, procurement and infrastructure development.
"We value UNOPS strategic thinking towards sustainable development in our country," said Minister Botelho. "We are excited to start working with them to structure investable deals, with a focus on social housing and renewable energy, as these two areas are very important to us."
