Sustainable procurement training

UNOPS has an extensive range of sustainable procurement training options on offer to the UN system. UNOPS regularly hosts sustainable procurement workshops at UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Interactive sustainable procurement training tailored to the UN system

We deliver tailored training courses on request at your preferred location and time, incorporating the requirements, challenges and opportunities that face your organization.

Each training course provides interactive learning with real-life case studies. In a practical manner, participants will be empowered to master the complexity of sustainable procurement practices.

Audience: Procurement practitioners, policy makers, project managers, specification writers, requisitioners, members of contract committees and other procurement professionals within the UN system.

Methodology: Training is based on a combination of presentations and participatory methods. Participants have the opportunity to reproduce a real-life case in which sustainability considerations have been included into a standard procurement process

Duration:

  • Awareness building (one day)

  • Workshop (two days)

  • Advanced workshop (three days)

Evaluations: Previous participants have evaluated the UNOPS sustainable procurement training courses very positively. In total, 91 percent of participants stated that the training courses achieved their training objectives and 95 percent found the UNOPS trainer excellent. The course has received an overall recommendation rate of 98 percent from all previous participants.

Results:

The training courses are designed to help participants:

  • develop skills in embedding sustainability throughout the procurement cycle;

  • access a platform of sustainable procurement tools and techniques, including case studies and best practices;

  • understand the rationale for incorporating sustainability principles into UN procurement practices;

  • learn from peers and exchange knowledge through hands-on group work;

  • translate theory into practice by working with real-life cases.
