The Nairobi Liaison Office focuses on strengthening and further developing UNOPS partnerships with UN Environment and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).
UNOPS supports partners in the implementation of projects through the delivery of effective sustainable project management, infrastructure and procurement, including support services and capacity building.
In November 2012, UNOPS and UN Environment signed a global Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration. The Memorandum highlights areas of service that reinforce sustainable development solutions.
Together, they help to ensure the comprehensive and effective delivery of sustainable projects for governments, development partners and communities.
In recent years, UNOPS and UN Environment have fostered an active partnership, collaborating on over 40 projects at the global, regional and country levels, with a focus on climate change, disasters and conflict, ecosystem management, chemicals and waste, and resource efficiency.
