UNOPS provides cash assistance for non-refugee families in Gaza

The United Nations Office for Project Services initiated its cash assistance programme for non-refugees families affected by the 51 days conflict last summer in Gaza.

Prior to, and throughout Ramadan, 62 families temporarily sheltered in United Nations Relief and Works Agency For Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) collection centres received cash assistance from UNOPS to repair their damaged homes.

UNOPS is striving to improve the lives of people in Gaza through various projects, including the cash assistance programme; the materials monitoring unit established by UNOPS, which monitors use of construction materials imported to Gaza under the Gaza Reconstruction Mechanism; and facilitating the access of humanitarian goods and personnel for recovery of Gaza.
