This event, held in connection with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark's annual Ambassador Meeting, will focus on a changing United Nations and the Danish expectations for future UN collaboration. UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo will participate in a debate on the preparedness of the UN to handle current and future challenges.

Arendalsuka is a politically independent annual forum held in Norway. National delegates in politics, society and industry meet each other and the public to debate and develop policies for the present and future. UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo will participate in several panel events at Arendalsuka, including: ​15 August: Panel debate on the circular economy in the process industry. 16 August: Panel of experts will discuss implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals during a working breakfast on development. 17 August: Panel debate on technology as a major driver of change, as well as a panel debate on democracy

This year's World Trade Organization Global Review theme is promoting trade, inclusiveness and connectivity for sustainable development. During this event, stakeholders will look at how Aid for Trade can contribute to the integration of developing countries and least developed countries into the multilateral trading system, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo will participate in a panel discussion during a plenary session entitled 'Aid and inclusive trade: Financing trade connectivity and the Sustainable Development Goals' on 11 July 2017.

The Swiss IT Leadership Forum is an association of leading executives from the Swiss ICT industry. The three-day event will focus on communicating hands-on experience and trends in strategic positioning and the organization of ICT functions. UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo is participating in this event. Ms. Faremo will speak about the vision of UNOPS on artificial intelligence.

Hosted by the British Chamber of Commerce in Denmark, the Age of Sustainable Innovation Summit brings together industries, policy leaders, investors, regulators and consumers to discuss how businesses are leveraging the Sustainable Development Goals to support innovation. The summit also examines the growth of innovation across industries while ensuring high quality products, safety and comfort for consumers. UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo will be a keynote speaker at the event.

The World Reconstruction Conference aims to promote resilience through post-crisis recovery. UNOPS experts will host and moderate a session on the role of the private sector for recovery in conflict and fragile situations during the conference. Coinciding with World Oceans Day, the Ocean Conference aims to support the implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 (conserving and sustainably using the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development). The conference aims to be the game changer that will reverse the decline in the health of our ocean for people, planet and prosperity. Co-hosted by the Governments of Fiji and Sweden, this year's theme is 'Our oceans, our future: partnering for the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14.' UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo is attending the event.

The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is the main global forum for strategic advice, coordination and partnership development. This year's event is the first opportunity for the international community to review global progress of the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, as well as the implementation of international instruments on disaster risk reduction. Stefan Köhler, Chair of the International Recovery Platform Steering Committee, will attend the event​.

Held in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will provide a collaborative platform for shaping the future of MENA through public-private cooperation. This year's forum also aim to address continued geopolitical shifts and humanitarian challenges by supporting multi-stakeholder dialogue on the situation in Syria, Iraq and Libya, and the ongoing refugee crisis.
