United Nations Senior Leadership Group on Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilience (New York)

The United Nations Senior Leadership Group on Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilience aims to strengthen UN system-wide coherence on implementation of a risk informed 2030 Agenda, the Sendai Framework, Paris Agreement on Climate Change and other key international agreements. It also seeks to ensure that disaster risk reduction remains a strategic priority for the UN system and related organizations. UNOPS Deputy Executive Director Vitaly Vanshelboim will attend the event.

Global Goals and Opportunities for Businesses (Oslo)

In 2015, world leaders adopted 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals that serve as guiding principles for global and national priorities to 2030. This conference examines the key role the private sector plays in this challenge. UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo will participate in a session entitled, 'Sustainability goals: Forecast of risks and opportunities.'​

International Recovery Forum (23-24 January, Kobe)

The International Recovery Forum 2017 is an opportunity to share experiences and lessons on "Build Back Better" towards resilient and healthy communities. This year's theme focuses on health as a critical disaster risk reduction (DRR) issue.​ Stefan Kohler, outgoing Chairperson of the International Recovery Platform, and Ian Rector, Senior Advisor for Infrastructure and Resilience for UNOPS in Asia, are attending the event.​
