By providing infrastructure, procurement and project management services, we support climate action, build resilience, and foster equality and inclusion to better serve communities in need.

Sustainability at UNOPS
We're committed to building a more sustainable, inclusive and resilient future for all. Working closely with partners, we help drive efficiency and value for money in public spending to ensure more funding is available to shift to low-carbon economies and help achieve long-term sustainable development.

BUILDING LOCAL ECONOMIESOf $1.6 billion worth of goods and services procured for partners, 41 per cent was procured from suppliers registered locally to lessen environmental impacts by reducing emissions and directly support local economies.

THE JOBS WE CREATEOur commitment to sustainability is underlined by the jobs we create in the communities where we work. Of the 23 million days of paid work created for local people, 2.2 million of these days were undertaken by women.

THE KNOWLEDGE WE SHAREA core contribution to social sustainability and developing national capacity is through passing our skills and experience to the people we work with on our projects. In 2023, we created 26,000 days of technical work.
