The ten countries of the Association of South-east Asian Nations (ASEAN) will meet as part of this year's World Economic Forum on ASEAN to discuss the theme 'Youth, Technology and Growth: Securing ASEAN's Digital and Demographic Dividends.' The Forum will bring together senior decision makers from a range of sectors to facilitate greater collaboration between industry, government and civil society, as well as to work on shaping the brightest future for the region's young. UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo is participating in a panel discussion entitled ‘South-East Asia and the Big Picture.’

This conference examines the key role the private sector plays in this challenge. The International Recovery Forum 2017 is an opportunity to share experiences and lessons on "Build Back Better" towards resilient and healthy communities. This year's theme focuses on health as a critical disaster risk reduction (DRR) issue.​ Stefan Kohler, outgoing Chairperson of the International Recovery Platform, and Ian Rector, Senior Advisor for Infrastructure and Resilience for UNOPS in Asia, are attending the event.​
