The forum will bring together members of the public and private sectors as well as international and civil society organizations to address current global challenges and advance policies for financing long-term sustainable development priorities. As part of the first-ever Sustainability Week at UN Headquarters, the UN General Assembly will have several events focused on paving the way for a sustainable future. The 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) is the UN's yearly conference to assess progress in dealing with climate change. UNOPS Executive Director Jorge Moreira da Silva will speak at and participate in a number of events at COP28. UNOPS will also host several side events at its pavilion in the Blue Zone.

Organized by Friends of Europe, the summit will explore how to improve multi-actor approaches and knowledge exchange to accelerate financing green energy globally, as well as achieve sustainable peace and prosperity in regions that face security challenges. UNOPS Executive Director Jorge Moreira da Silva will speak about the efficiency and impact of financing green infrastructure at the event.

Participants at the seminar will have the opportunity to gain insight into the UN procurement process, meet procurement officers from 17 UN agencies, and learn how companies are succeeding in delivering products and solutions to the UN. The World Health Summit brings together a wide spectrum of stakeholders to inspire innovative solutions for better health and well-being for all. On 16 October, UNOPS Executive Director Jorge Moreira da Silva, government leaders and health experts will participate in a UNOPS and World Health Organization co-hosted panel on fostering health system resilience in fragile and conflict-affected countries.

The summit marks the beginning of a new phase of accelerated progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals with high-level political guidance on transformative and accelerated actions leading up to 2030.
