Côte d'Ivoire (May 2026)

Bringing together representatives of the government of Côte d’Ivoire, technical and financial partners, the UN system and local private sector stakeholders, the event provided an opportunity for participants to discuss ways to strengthen inclusive, responsible procurement capacity of Ivorian businesses. More than 100 participants, including 40 women entrepreneurs, took part in training on responsible procurement and the tools needed to strengthen their capacity to respond to UN tenders in Côte d’Ivoire. Malawi (October 2024)

As part of the European Union (EU)-funded Zantchito-Skills for Jobs Programme, UNOPS, the EU and the government of Malawi co-hosted an UP Forum for more than 50 business representatives from across the country. Participants learned more about sustainable procurement and UN procurement processes, including how to navigate the UN Global Marketplace and UNOPS online tendering platforms.

Myanmar (September 2024)

Around 120 business representatives from micro, small and medium-sized enterprises – with a special focus on women-owned businesses – enhance their public procurement and sustainable supply chain capacities. Participants increased their knowledge of gender-response procurement and the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.

Ukraine (April 2024)

Conducted in partnership with the UN Global Compact, the UP Forum in Kyiv helped raise awareness among Ukrainian businesses of business opportunities with the UN. The event targeted a diverse range of suppliers, focusing on local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as businesses owned by veterans, people living with disabilities and women, who made up over 70 per cent of the attendants.

Benin and Togo (February 2024)

These UP Forums aimed to build the capacity of local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. Panel discussions included topics such as sustainability and the benefits of empowering and working with local suppliers, with experts from key stakeholders, including representatives from local government ministries, the UN Development Programme, UNICEF and the World Bank.

Sierra Leone (February 2024)

Held in close collaboration with UN Women and Sierra Leone's National Public Procurement Authority, representatives from several government ministries participated in panel discussions and presentations to encourage dialogue and explore solutions to dismantling the barriers hindering women's economic participation.

Kenya (October 2023)

The UP Forum explored ways to leverage sustainable procurement to create opportunities for local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), advance economic growth and create jobs in Kenya. Participants also learned how to become UN suppliers, navigate the UN Global Marketplace and drive sustainability. The event was held in collaboration with Kenya's Micro and Small Enterprises Authority, the Ministry of Co-operatives and MSME Development, and the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority as well as with the International Finance Corporation and UN Women.

Liberia (May 2023)

Held jointly with UN Women Liberia – which is supporting Liberia's Public Procurement and Concessions Commission to mainstream gender in public procurement – the UP Forum focused on building the capacity of women-led and women-owned small and medium enterprises. Participants received training on how to explore business opportunities in the UN through the UN Global Marketplace platform and how to participate in public procurement opportunities in Liberia.

Sierra Leone (January 2023)

This UP Forum focused on creating awareness about upcoming business opportunities with UNOPS as well as incorporated hands-on, step-by-step guidance and demonstrations on how to navigate the UN Global Marketplace and UNOPS eSourcing.
