Sara Netzer was appointed UNOPS Director of the Asia Pacific Region on 1 May 2026. She brings with her over 20 years of experience in international development, humanitarian response and strategic leadership. Ms. Netzer joined UNOPS as the Fund Director for the Livelihoods and Food Security Fund (LIFT) in Myanmar in December 2021, later stepping into the role of Country Director and Representative for Myanmar in November 2022.

Prior to joining UNOPS, Ms. Netzer held various key positions with the World Food Programme, Food and Agriculture Organization, Save the Children, CARE and Oxfam (Netherlands). She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and has worked in over 30 countries, offering extensive expertise in fragile states and complex humanitarian and development contexts across the world.
