Practical solutions to address immense needs: UNOPS Annual Report 2025
UNOPS delivered more than 1,100 projects last year, providing practical solutions to address growing urgent needs of communities around the world.
In a year marked by widening humanitarian, development and economic challenges, UNOPS focus on practical solutions helped to address urgent needs and support crisis-affected communities around the world.
UNOPS Annual Report 2025 highlights the organization's work to respond in the face of growing global challenges. This includes our work to support people affected by conflict and the deepening climate emergency – in Afghanistan, the Gaza Strip, Haiti, Jamaica, Myanmar, Sudan, Ukraine and beyond.
2025 was marked by profound global turbulence. Against this backdrop, UNOPS remained focused on what it does best: getting work done and delivering practical solutions to improve people’s lives around the world.
Throughout last year, UNOPS provided a range of operational, technical and logistical support to partners through more than 1,100 projects in over 130 countries and territories – delivering approximately $2.7 billion in peace and security, humanitarian and sustainable development initiatives.
Two-thirds of UNOPS work in 2025 took place in special and fragile situations. This reflects the organization's commitment to delivering tangible results in some of the world’s most challenging environments – and our work supporting countries on the frontlines of the climate crisis.
Annual results
In 2025, UNOPS created around 26 million days of paid work for local communities through the projects we implemented, including 10 million days of work for women.
As the only UN entity dedicated to implementation, UNOPS continued to support partners – including governments, international financial institutions and across the UN – with translating global ambitions and national development priorities into tangible actions on the ground. Around 70 per cent of UNOPS portfolio in 2025 involved collaboration with other UN organizations.
With multilateral cooperation facing unprecedented strain, UNOPS also actively supported the UN80 reform initiative last year, helping drive a more effective, efficient and coherent UN system that is equipped to respond to the immense challenges of our time.
Results from UNOPS 2025 global survey also reflect the growing trust placed in UNOPS by our partners, who value our unique fee-for-service business model and ability to deliver high-quality services in complex contexts. Some 87 per cent of partners surveyed indicated they trust UNOPS as a partner; 84 per cent value the quality of our services; and 82 per cent see UNOPS driving impact on the Sustainable Development Goals.
“As we look ahead, we remain focused on scaling up and speeding up impact through practical solutions that support people in need, contributing to a more peaceful, fairer and greener world for all,” said Jorge Moreira da Silva.
