UNOPS supports the government of Cambodia and other partners by providing procurement, infrastructure, grant management and advisory services in the areas of health and justice.
To support the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, UNOPS helps coordinate the procurement and delivery of antiretroviral medicines, rapid diagnostic test kits and laboratory supplies to help reduce the spread of tuberculosis and AIDS.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, UNOPS is working with a range of partners to procure essential medical equipment and supplies, enhance hospital preparedness and improve health services across the country.
Key Information
UNOPS impact in Cambodia- Constructed a modular hospital in Siem Reap and procured emergency medical equipment – including testing kits, machines and personal protective equipment – to support the COVID-19 response.
- Managed grants and supported local non-governmental organizations in the development of e-learning courses on the legacy of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia – raising awareness on justice, human rights and peace, as well as the history of the Khmer Rouge.
- Conducted health infrastructure preparedness assessments in 45 hospitals to provide strategic resource and policy recommendations for the Ministry of Health.
