UNOPS supports the government of Cambodia and other partners by providing procurement, infrastructure, project management and advisory services in the areas of health and sustainable urbanization.

Aligned with Cambodia's national development goals, UNOPS has worked to reduce the incidence of tuberculosis, AIDS and malaria in the country while strengthening overall services. Its contributions also extend to the area of inclusive, smart and sustainable urban development.

Key Information

  • UNOPS impact in Cambodia

    • Supported the government’s COVID-19 response with the procurement and installation of critical medical equipment, including ICUs equipment. The work is benefitting nearly 4 million people.

    • Since 2018, have supported the Ministry of Health and the National Centre for HIV/AIDS Dermatology and STD, to procure pharmaceutical and health products such as antiretroviral drugs, rapid diagnostic test kits, laboratory consumables and health equipment/products.

    • Works with government and civil society organizations to strengthen malaria case management in public health facilities and establish a network of trained volunteer malaria workers in remote areas.

    • Contributed to Cambodia’s governance and justice through an EU-funded project to provide grants to the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) and CSOs on education and awareness raising about the Khmer Rouge. Outputs include an e-learning platform about the ECCC legal legacy and a mobile application for Khmer history education.
