UNOPS supports the Government of Cambodia and other partners in sustainable procurement, advisory services and grant management. Working primarily in the environment, health and justice sectors, UNOPS is committed to recognizing national ownership and building capacity.
In addition, our team in Cambodia supports multi-country programmes including Small Grants, Peace and Security, and Water and Energy. This includes our support to the Global Fund, by coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the malaria-control work of a range of government ministries and non-governmental organizations throughout the country.
UNOPS impact in Cambodia
- Tested patients for malaria, and confirmed and treated thousands of malaria cases.
- Strengthened the health sector by training hundreds of health practitioners on the diagnosis of malaria by microscopy.
- Provided training to teachers throughout Cambodia, with the aim to incorporate the history of Democratic Kampuchea in the mandated national curriculum.
