As part of the 2018 High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, this roundtable will enable discussion among relevant stakeholders involved in developing innovative solutions based on blockchain technology. UNOPS, the UN Economic Commission for Europe and the Government of Slovenia will co-host the event. Yoshiyuki Yamamoto, UNOPS Special Advisor for UN Engagement and Blockchain Technology, will participate.
Co-hosted by UNOPS and held at UN City, weeklong courses – taught in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals – will focus on empowering people with tools and skills for innovation and design.
The Annual Statistical Report on United Nations Procurement provides an overview of the procurement of the UN system in support of its operations, projects and programmes.
Aligned to the Global Reporting Initiative framework, the report looks back at our work and key achievements around the world in 2017.
Folkemødet is a meeting of people and politicians, with Bornholm providing the venue for Danish politicians to debate current political issues. UNOPS representatives from the Partnerships and Liaison Group will be attending and speaking at the event.

Different stakeholders – including the World Bank, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, regional development banks and businesses – will come together to explore ways the UN can better align itself with the rapidly changing world of international finance, and support the 2030 Agenda and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda. UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo will be a speaker on a panel entitled ‘Let the investment grow: filling in the gap of trillions.’

The Annual Session of the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board will take place in New York at UN Headquarters. Board documents are available on the UNOPS website. The UNOPS segment will take place on 4 June 2018 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm (New York time), during which UNOPS Executive Director Grete Faremo will deliver a statement and present UNOPS Annual Report of the Executive Director to the Executive Board. The entire meeting will be available live on UN Web TV.

The Joint Meeting of the Executive Boards of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS, UNICEF, UN Women and WFP will take place in New York at UN Headquarters.
Organized by the European Commission, this event brings the development community together to share ideas and experiences in ways that inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. This year’s theme is ‘Women and girls at the forefront of sustainable development: Protect, empower, invest.’ The Director of UNOPS Infrastructure and Project Management Group, Nick O’Regan, will participate in a debate panel on women and girls in urban spaces.
