Statement on the two-week ceasefire announcement between the United States and Iran
Statement attributable to Jorge Moreira da Silva, UN Under-Secretary-General and UNOPS Executive Director.
I join the UN Secretary-General and welcome the two-week ceasefire announcement between the U.S. and Iran.

The war caused severe damage to civilian infrastructure including bridges, roads, schools and medical facilities.
The impact is far reaching as millions beyond the region have struggled with rising prices of basic goods and access to food, fuel and medicines.
