The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)

Building institutional capacity in Palestine

In partnership with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), UNOPS will manage the procurement of equipment and supplies for the Palestinian National School for Administration in Ramallah.

“We are very proud to work together with KOICA in achieving one of our mutual values – national capacity development – by supporting local and comprehensive administrative development efforts,” said Tokumitsu Kobayashi, UNOPS Director in Jerusalem.

UNOPS will be responsible for the planning and implementation of procurement activities and will deliver and install nearly $900,000 worth of IT equipment, furniture, appliances, kitchen supplies and other items.

The National School for Administration is a government institution that seeks to improve the performance of public sector employees. All newly recruited civil servants go through a professional training programme aimed to develop administrative and managerial capacities and create a positive culture around public service. New equipment and supplies will help improve functionality and increase accessibility for students.

"As a project-oriented technical cooperation agency, KOICA has been looking for a reliable partner for supporting hardware components of our ongoing project,” said Dr. Youseung Shin, KOICA Country Director in Palestine. “We believe UNOPS is one of the best and credible partners in this regard,” he added.
