Last year, ODA dropped by nearly one quarter, with core UN contributions seeing the largest annual drop on record.
Projections for 2026 paint an equally grim picture - and that's not taking into account the global impacts of the war in the Middle East.
People’s needs around the world are immense and growing by the day. Inequalities are deepening.
Meanwhile, our climate is in a state of emergency.
Now is not the time to be cutting ODA, quite the contrary. It is exactly the time for collective global responsibility to shoulder the burden and respond to huge needs.
Without that, the poor and most vulnerable will further sink into the abyss and misery. The equity gap will widen, pushing us further away from achieving the sustainable development goals.
