Juliette Touma was appointed Director of Communications at UNOPS in January 2026, bringing nearly 25 years of experience in communications, strategic management, and crisis and emergency communications. Prior to joining UNOPS, Ms. Touma served as the Director of Communications for UNRWA – including during the war in Gaza. Before that, she worked for close to a decade with UNICEF including as Regional Chief of Advocacy and Communications in the Middle East and North Africa.
A seasoned spokesperson, and an expert in crisis communications and reputation risk management, Ms. Touma has also worked with several other UN organizations in Iraq, Syria, Libya and the State of Palestine during emergencies and conflicts. She holds a Master’s Degree in Global Media and Communications from The School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
