UNOPS supports a broad range of EU-funded projects and programmes around the world, through its dedicated liaison office in Brussels.
In November 2008, UNOPS signed the Financial and Administrative Framework Agreement (FAFA) with the European Commission (EC), which facilitates cooperation between the two institutions. Under this framework, UNOPS has implemented projects with several EC's Directorates-General, including the DG for International Cooperation and Development; the DG for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations; the DG for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection; and the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments. Examples of UNOPS services include rehabilitating justice buildings in Tunisia, constructing transitional shelters in Haiti and Sri Lanka, and supporting projects that facilitate United Nations and international NGOs access to Palestine and conflict-affected areas in Iraq.

From Brussels, UNOPS also serves as trustee and secretariat of the Cities Alliance, a global partnership that supports cities in developing countries to enhance sustainable development and reduce poverty.
