EU PRO Plus: Supporting local development in Serbia

UNOPS will implement the €30 million, European Union-funded programme with Serbia's Ministry of European Integration.

The three-year EU PRO Plus will encourage integrated social and economic development in 99 local self-governments in western, southern and eastern Serbia.

We look forward to working together with all our partners – local communities, businesses, regional development agencies – and fostering partnerships. Because only through partnerships with different entities can we achieve greater results.

The programme will focus on improving social infrastructure and social cohesion, as well as on improving business infrastructure and encouraging entrepreneurship – including among women, young people and people in vulnerable groups.

“We strongly believe that micro, small and medium-sized enterprises are the backbone of any modern economy," said Ambassador Sem Fabrizi, Head of the European Union Delegation to Serbia.

"This is why EU PRO Plus continues – in the footsteps of its predecessor programmes – to place focus on the cultivation of a private sector led by entrepreneurs," he added.

"The goal of European integration is a better standard of living and the overall quality of life of every citizen in our country, wherever they live and work in Serbia,” said Jadranka Joksimović, Serbia's Minister of European Integration.

UNOPS has previously worked with the government of Serbia to implement the EU PROGRES, European PROGRES and EU PRO programmes in Serbia.
