UNOPS in Nicaragua supports the government to drive sustainable development and make progress on the 2030 Agenda. Providing a range of procurement, project management and infrastructure services, UNOPS supports emergency response efforts, improves housing, roads and other critical infrastructure, and enhances access to water and sanitation, education and quality healthcare.

With a focus on strengthening national capacity, UNOPS provides technical advice and supports projects across the country to enhance the transparency, efficiency and sustainability of public procurement and national infrastructure.

  • UNOPS IMPACT IN NICARAGUA

    • Helping respond to Nicaragua’s short-term needs and the long-term impacts of COVID-19 through the implementation of health infrastructure projects and the procurement of vaccines, medical goods and laboratory supplies.

    • Supporting partners’ emergency response efforts as they respond to natural disasters. This includes helping to reestablish services and economic activities in critical sectors, building resilient infrastructure such as housing and roads, and strengthening the capacity of fisheries on the Caribbean coast.

    • Supporting the government of Nicaragua to strengthen public institutions by providing technical assistance and supervision of projects and programmes under the Multisectoral Program for Economic Reactivation and Social Protection.
