UNOPS delivers over 1,000 projects for communities
COPENHAGEN, 5 June 2026 | UNOPS continued to deliver to the most vulnerable communities amid global challenges, increase in armed conflicts and humanitarian needs, and a deepening climate crisis.
According to the UNOPS Annual Report, the agency provided technical, operational and logistical support through over 1,100 projects across 130 countries and territories, delivering around $2.7 billion in support of humanitarian response, sustainable development and peace and security initiatives. The majority of these projects were in response to conflicts and crises including in high risk areas.
“Against a backdrop of global challenges, UNOPS did what it does best: helping communities in need around the world through agile and practical solutions,” said Jorge Moreira da Silva, UNOPS Executive Director.
According to the report:
- UNOPS supported communities impacted by crises in Afghanistan, the Gaza Strip, Haiti, Jamaica, Ukraine, Myanmar, Sudan and Yemen.
- Two-thirds of UNOPS work was in complex situations in line with the continued focus to operate in some of the world’s most challenging contexts.
- Through its projects, the organization created around 26 million days of paid work for local communities among them the poorest, including 10 million days for women.
